OUR STORY
We are a group of 5 close friends with a common interest: the love for Italian wine. We started off going on holiday to Italy once a year all together, visiting some of our friends' families from the north in Modena, to Rome and all the way down to Puglia in the south.
Our project started there, sipping Italian wine under the stars! We then realised there was a need to share this passion we had for Italian wine back in the UK.
We started studying (and tasting of course!) wine whilst building a network of relationships with wine producers all over Italy and working with greatly experienced sommeliers to produce content that will help you enjoy Italian wine.

We like to refer to three core values as something that underpins everything we do here at Italian Wines:
Passion
Passion for wine and for anything Italian is what brought us together, and this is what we aim to reflect also on our website.
Authenticity
Authenticity for us means showing our true and honest opinion on things, aiming to create a relevel of trust between ourselves and the reader.
Simplicity
Simplicity is what we are about. The subject of wine is already complicated as it is, we want to make it simpler, for everyone out there to understand.
We think Italy is a beautiful country and its wine deserves more attention, so here we are! We are happy to help you understand everything that is wine and Italy related, as we know there are a lot of wine lovers out there just like us!
OUR CONTENT
Our content is written by experienced sommeliers who have spent more than a decade in the industry. Writing about food and wine is something we take very seriously (that is why we started the website!). Our tone of voice aims to be simple, friendly yet insightful - if you have any questions on the quality of the content, please get in touch.
OUR TEAM
We are 5 folks, from diverse backgrounds, with a common passion for vino: three Italian members from different yet fantastic wine regions, and two British members with a love for anything related to the dolce vita.
The idea about Italian Wines came about after a holiday together in Puglia in 2017. Since then, our friendships grew stronger every year, making us inseparable - holidays together in Italy are now a must for our team!
